First Steps (WP Integration Install)
There is a few important settings to made after setup.
aMember CP stands for aMember admin control panel. It is usually located at https://example.com/amember/admin/ (replace example.com to your website domain).
aMember admin control panel is not displayed inside WP admin dashboard. It has been made specially for better security and keep your payment processing independent on any WP plugin problems.
Enable and Configure Payment Plugins
Go to aMember CP -> Setup/Configuration -> Add-Ons and enable desired modules and payment plugins. Once you have selected modules to enable, press Save button. For each enabled payment plugin, click to aMember Cp -> Setup/Configuration -> PLUGIN-NAME and configure the plugin. You'll find detailed payment plugin configuration instructions at bottom of configuration page.
Setup Your Products
Products (or Subscription Type, whatever matches your website better) is an important concept of aMember. The Product, in short, is an item you are selling to customers. To get your signup form working, you must add at least one product. Go to aMember CP -> Manage Products and press New Record button. Fill-in product fields (it is a long form, but only a few fields are required). You will be asked for product title, description, for first price and period, for number of re-bills (if desired), and if you choose to enable re-bills you will also have to enter second price and period. One you are done with the form, press Save button.
Protect Your Content (inside WP)
Now, once you have aMember and Wordpress plugin installed and linked, and all preparation has been finished, you can actually protect your content to make it available for subscribers only.
Go to WordPress Dashboard, open Posts or Pages. Click Edit on a post you want to make protected. If you are using WP Classic Editor, you will see a box named "aMember Next Protection". If you are using WP Gutenberg (Blocks) Editor, you will see a lock icon named "aMember Next Protection Settings". Choose one or more aMember products that will open access to this post and update post settings.
Now you can test the post is now actually protected. However, if you open it as WP administrator you will see no difference. That is because administrators have full access to any posts by design. To test it, open an alternative browser, or use incognito (private) browser window.
Protect Your Content (outside of WP)
This part is optional when WP integration is enabled. However, for some setup this may be very helpful, specially if you need to protect entire folder with static content.
There is a number of types of content that aMember can protect and serve for you. That is: entire website folders, files, pages (that you create using HTML editor), URL links and emails (can be drilled within subscription period). To protect content, making it available for subscribed customers only, go to aMember CP -> Manage Content. Choose what kind of content you would like to provide, press New Record button and fill-in fields. In the last drop-down named Access Permissions you may define which products customer must order to access this protected item. For some types of content, it is even possible to "drill-down" content, making it available for example from 8th to 9th day of subscription. So lets go and define your content item.
Customize Signup Form
This part is optional. You may do it any time later.
Go to aMember CP -> Forms Editor, click 'Edit' icon near the Signup Form record. You will see list of 'enabled' and 'available' "bricks". You can drag&drop bricks from one side to another to enable or disable form elements. If you remove 'Username' or 'Password' bricks from the form, these fields will be generated automatically. To verify e-mail address on signup, click configure... link and 'E-Mail' brick and enable e-mail verification. To make multi-page signup form, take a Page-Separator brick from right side and put it between enabled form bricks. This will split signup form to parts. Once you are done with changes, press Save.
aMember Page Location in WP
During installation, aMember Next WP plugin creates a special page inside WordPress. This page have special use - standard aMember page blocks are displayed inside this page.
Do not delete this page, and do not remove aMember shortcode block from it. If you do this, it will break aMember functionality.
You may find aMember page location by visiting WP Dashboard -> aMember
Make Test Signup and Payment
Go to aMember page described in previous chapter. You will see a link to signup or order page (depending on your autentication status). Try to signup and make payment as a regular user. Normally you will receive a welcome e-mail, your invoice in aMember Admin CP will be marked as Paid or Recurring Active and when you go to special WP aMember Page you must see the protected content links. Also, if you open a protected post, it now must be available for you.
Congradlations! You have finished aMember Next installation!
